El Cerrito, CA
4/15/2013This is my favorite place to go, ANY time of day, to get work done. Free wifi and great coffee. Good start, but not impossible to find in the bay area.
But what sets this place apart is this:
- AWESOME atmosphere. Quiet but friendly
- AMAZING food. You order something, and they make it from scratch, like you would in your own kitchen. Best Cobb Salad and Tuna melt I've had anywhere, hands down
- FRIENDLY people. It's like going to a cozy place to get work done, where nothing ever gets in your way
- GREAT music. Always love the (non-distracting) tunes in the background
Can't say enough good things about this gem. My only reservation in posting this is that I don't want to give away the secret, but that's just selfish!

Update - 4/9/2013My second visit to this cafe and I have to say that it was better than the first time. I was going to try the tuna fish and the guy (owner?) at the counter asked me if I had tried the "dirty tuna" before. I said no and thought it was a good day to be adventurous. Boy oh boy, the dirty tuna sandwich was like an explosion of taste in my mouth! Very pleased with my sandwich. It's very obvious that the owners are trying hard to please the customer. Thank you guys, will be back real soon!

4/8/2013I was introduced to this place by my boyfriend who frequently bought me my tuna sandwich fix. Nothing extravagant, but that is what makes it perfect for a daily fix! Not loaded with a pound of meat, but their sandwiches are packed with flavor. So much that the meat doesn't overtake like they do at subway with tuna. But there is no comparison to places like Subway and Quizno's needed here. Try the Kik's favorite, you won't be disappointed! Family owned small business... so that is a definite plus. Their iced chai tea latte was tasty as well. The place itself is welcoming. Perfect for studying. It's like a cafe you would find in Berkeley.

3/30/2013So far I've tried Breakfast, Lunch, and Happy Hour.
Breakfast
Green Eggs & Ham in a croissant. It was my first time having green eggs, and it was delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect but I think the eggs were cooked with basil? Also the croissant was very fresh, and best of all under $4 bucks! Where else are you going to get a breakfast sandwich that compares to this one for under $4??
Coffee! Coffee is coffee right? What could be special about their coffee? Organic being one thing, but if I'm not mistaken our cup was brewed to order! Makes a world of a difference over coffee that's sitting in a tin container made in bulk.
Lunch
Tuna Sandwich. I phoned in the order and arrived in 10-15 minutes as they were packing it up. I asked for wheat bread, and when I arrived back at my office I was surprised to find an awesome wheat roll! Totally wasn't expecting that. The tuna had lots of flavor being accompanied by thinly sliced onion rings and olives. $6 included a soda and chips.
Happy Hour
$3 Beers and Happy Hour Specials Apps!
Their beer selection is excellent, all bottles but they carry all the right brands. Anchorsteam, Racer5, Sopporro, Red Stripe, Corona, etc, etc. For $3 bucks with cool music in the background and free Wi-Fi, there's no comparison in the area.
Stuffed Tomato was the app we had, and it was surprisingly fantastic. It was 2 tomatoes sliced in half and stuffed with tuna! If you love tuna like I do, then this is a MUST try, and it goes well with beer!
Bottom line, this place is kinda hidden but on the main street so it's not hard to find. If you try the things mentioned above, you will not disagree!
Note to the owners. If you guys were open early on weekdays, I can't promise you that I'd be there everyday, but can promise you that I wouldn't go to Starbucks anymore.
